> Background
> Two years back Microsoft Research released TouchDevelop, http://www.touchdevelop.com, a programming language and development environment built from the ground up for touch screens. Initially, TouchDevelop was available on Windows Phone only, allowing a user to develop and share scripts with other TouchDevelop users. These scripts could also be converted to Windows Phone apps and published in the Windows Phone Marketplace. Recently, with the release of TouchDevelop Web App<https://www.touchdevelop.com/app/>, this radically new development environment can be used on any modern smartphone or tablet. Scripts developed on one platform (e.g. Windows Phone) can be shared with other TouchDevelop users and run on any other platform (hardware permitting. E.g. Windows 8, iOS, Android, etc.).
