I’ve been playing with the Smalltalk-78 revenant in lively:

a bug report about assignment tails “:=“ in Grace 
made me notice that this was actually in ST-78 (and 76, presumably).
and also that they applied to operators.

So in ST-78, indexing was ○, and indexing assignment was ○ ←
(compared with ST-80 at: and at:put:) 

just wondering’.. I’ve put it on the bad ideas list for now
