Be careful with "series", because math teachers are often pedantic
about that word. Specifically, a series is a sum of a sequence. Such
teachers go on to ask tricky questions, to make their students
devoutly promise to believe in the difference between sequences and
series, and to make them carefully answer many tricky questions that
rely on understanding that difference.

For example, the sequence {1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, ...} converges to 0.
The series 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + ... converges to 2.

The sequence {1, 3/2, 5/4, 9/8, ...} converges to 1.
The series 1 + 3/2 + 5/4 + ... doesn't converge.
